A union brother in Union City Tenn. was tragically killed while operating a wind-up on a bias ply cutter.
It’s believed he was feeding the fabric lead into the roll when it grabbed him and pulled him in.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and brothers and sisters at the plant.
It’s a hard reminder that the machinery we work with day to day, has no soul, no forgiveness.
It only takes one time, one split second, and its over.
So please, take the to check your safeties and guards to make sure they are working properly
And in place. THINK, before you take that risk or cut that corner or work with that machine
With the guards off or E-stop that don't work, STOP AND THINK, Think about the aftermath,
Think about what could happen and think about who counts on you to come home safe.
THINK the trade off is it worth it? What could come from this action?
Please work safe and smart!
THANKS
